Q: I don’t have any money / I have $10,000. How do I start?

A: If you don’t have any money, start learning. If you have ten grand, don’t tell anyone, but start learning. Start small and do bigger deals as you become better. You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start.

Q: Do I have to be risk-taker to get rich?

A: No. We suggest you define what “risky” means to you. We think being uneducated is risky. There’s always risk but getting rich doesn’t have to be risky.

Q: Why not let somebody else (a professional) handle my finances?

A: Nobody else will take care of your money as well as you do. Most people also advice based on their commission. You can’t outsource financial intelligence.

Q: My financial advisor says you can’t get more than 10% annual returns constantly. What’s your advice?

A: Get a new financial advisor.

Q: My accountant says investing is risky. What’s your advice?

A: Get a new accountant.

Q: My stock broker says investing in real estate is risky. What’s your advice?

A: Don’t ask your stock broker about real estate. You wouldn’t ask your real estate agent about stocks either.

Q: Do I have to quit my job?

A: No. You need to spend more time with things that are in alignment to your highest values. Chances are you’re lacking time with your spouse, children and hobbies. The goal is to find time and income to support your ideal lifestyle. That may mean working for three days a week and enjoying long weekends frequently. Maybe you want to work hard for six months and travel the world for six months.

Q: My boss would never let me work less despite the fact that I produce all the results we agreed on.

A: If you’re unhappy with that, find a new boss.

Q: Do I need to be a risk-taker to enjoy lifestyle design?

A: No. Lifestyle design is not about adventures. It’s just one option. Lifestyle design is about allocating your resources so that you can do what is most important to you. It could be more time for your family, more effort for business or distraction from boredom. You pick.

Q: Do I have to travel.

A: No. It’s just one option. Do what excites you.

Q: If everybody did what you do there would be nobody left to do the work. What’s the point?

A: If everybody abandoned unnecessary work for work’s sake, organizations would be more productive. Therefore people would be happier enjoying more time with their loved ones and dear hobbies.

Q: Working less sounds like serving fewer people. It also sounds like laziness. Why work less?

A: The idea behind New Rich philosophy and Lifestyle Design is not laziness at all but massive action. Working less means doing the right things instead of doing things right. It’s possible to increase productivity to serve more people in less time. Spend the saved time doing something you really love. Again, you be the judge about what that is for you.
